Membership of Cramlington Cycling Club is open to male and female riders. Membership categories include Ordinary, Social and Junior (aged 16 to 18). Junior members require parental consent. The Social category is suitable for members who, for whatever reason, are not currently riding with the club and therefore do not need Third Party Insurance but wish to keep in contact with the club’s activities.
Club membership is £4 for the year running from 1st October to 30th September, and is due on 1st October each year. Any member who fails to pay by 31st December will be deemed to have resigned from the club. Anyone joining late in the club year (after 30th June) will be covered up to September of the following year.
Once your membership application is accepted you will be emailed details of the club bank account so that the membership fee can be paid online or in a bank branch. You MUST include your name in the payment reference so that it can be identified.
It is a condition of membership that third-party liability insurance for at least £10m is held. The recommended way of getting this cover is to join Cycling UK. Cramlington Cycling Club is an affiliated club, so you can obtain membership at the reduced rate of £33 (standard adult membership is £48) a year. You can join online by completing the Cycling UK Affiliate Membership online form, or by telephone on 01483 238 301. You will need to quote the club’s reference, which can be found on the Member Resources page.
If you are already a full member of Cycling UK, or British Cycling, or have some other affiliation which affords equivalent cover, then there is no need to join Cycling UK as an affiliate.
If you are joining the club for social purposes and never intend to ride then you do not need third party insurance.
